Dog walking

This morning, after a quick visit to the farmers’ market we went dog walking again for the SPCA.
We walked Ned and Samson first – we walked them both last week. Then the puppies, Mac and Marley, who were as lively as last week!

There were quite a few walkers there this morning. When we got back with Mac and Marley all the dogs had been walked. There were two 3 month old terrier puppies that had eaten their breakfast and were keen to go for another walk so we took them out. Robert (weird name for a dog) is the brown one – he’s male and Racey is the white one – she’s female.

They’re very cute and walk really well on leads. Unfortunately, the lead James had for Robert (or Bob as James decided to call him) had a faulty hook and Bob kept escaping! Which was fine as he didn’t go far and thought it was a fun game. Until he fell down a ditch! Where we walk them is in a lemon orchard and there are drainage ditches alongside the trees. He fell through some fallen branches and as the ditch is quite deep he couldn’t make it back up! He was having great fun running up and down in the muddy water. We tried to find a part that wasn’t so deep so he could climb up but in the end James had to go in the ditch and lift him out! All a bit muddy after it rained for most of the day yesterday.
